Award winning journalist and former NPR reporter and foreign news correspondent, Charlayne Hunter-Gault spent the afternoon during the second week of 2016 Sisters & Friends discussing her life journey and signed her books, “To The Mountaintop” and “In My Place”. Ms. Hunter-Gault was the first African American female to be admitted to the Univ. of Georgia. Her pioneering journey chronicled in her books inspire us as we read of her struggles and accomplishments that paved they way for all of us to succeed. The signed books are important for the young people in our lives. See the powerful talk she gave to students at University of South Carolina.

In addition to the book discussion, we offered a toast to her with her Passages wines. The chardonnay is her creation and the Pilotage has been a big hit in the summer, as it is a light red that can be served room temp or slightly chilled. For a heavier red there is a Merlot and an even heavier Cab Merlot Blend. Check the website www.passageswines.net
